Ravensbruck was a concentration camp that ran from 1938 to 1945. This was a work camp specifically made for Jewish women. The first prisoners were mainly German and Austrians, but later prisoners came from twenty different countries. This camp was constructed by 500 women prisoners that had been transferred from Sachsenhausen, another camp in use at that time. 132,000 were incarcerated here, and an estimated amount of 92,000 were exterminated. It later came to an end when it was liquidated by the Soviets in 1945 (Ravensbrück Concentration Camp).
